A Collaborative Initiative to Empower Vulnerable, Homeless, and Foster Youth
Problem:
Many youths transitioning out of foster care experience homelessness. 46% of homeless adults report being a homeless youth.
Current Approach:
Existing programs often react to adult homelessness, not prevent it.
Solution:
Fostering Our Future (FOF) empowers vulnerable, homeless, and foster youth in Bernalillo County with skills and resources to achieve self-sufficiency in one program.
FOF Services:
S.O.A.R. (SSI, Medicaid, other benefits assistance)
Life skills training (financial literacy, career planning, healthy relationships, independent living skills)
Optional scholarship program
